Ans: Please contact the whatsapp number available on our Instagram bio or at the end of this document 9677175894.
Ans: Yes, We provide both online and offline sessions.
Ans: Frequency of the sessions are one session a week and each session is for 50 minutes. We do not do fortnight sessions.
Ans: Any situation where there is a threat to yourself or your immediate environment is considered an emergency. Medical illnesses & concerns for self & family are also considered emergencies.
Ans: You can seek professional help when experiencing a state dysfunctionality where social support isn’t helping enough to relieve you of that. We work towards understanding your current state. Therapy can serve both elimination of symptoms & maintenance of that achieved state while also exploring your strengths.
While therapy has been conventionally associated with ‘treating illness’, it can also serve the purpose of self-improvement & working towards a better quality of life & build healthy coping.
Ans: In the first session, we focus on what has brought you here at this point of time in life and understanding your concerns. We will be discussing your goals for therapy and the therapist’s process towards attaining the same. In case you are unclear regarding goals, we will be exploring that together. Following that, the client’s doubts regarding the process are addressed.
While the above mentioned information covers the overall structure of a first session, please note that there aren’t any set guidelines for this. The first session can also be one of catharsis where you express your thoughts and emotions in the safety of a non-judgmental space. The therapy space is yours to explore, while the therapist plays the role of a facilitator.
Ans: To us, progress is an ongoing process of gaining insight into and effectively managing situations that previously used to trigger anxiety. In therapeutic progress, It's also important to acknowledge that the intangibles that often go unnoticed, contribute to our emotional well-being on an everyday basis. Progress isn't linear and it is not uncommon for us to have dips and ups in the healing process.
Ans: The core of our work lies in the here & now and is informed from Psychodynamic Psychotherapy & Transactional Analysis which delves into your early childhood patterns, the unconscious and how it is manifesting at present. We do not provide brief psychotherapy.
Ans: If a child is not willing to consent for therapy, the parent then seeks help first. Here, the therapist & the parent first explore the communication struggles in the family & parental relationship that are serving as hurdles for the child seeking the necessary help.
Always remember that this is a mutual process. For the child to seek help for their concerns, the parent does the same - which sets precedent for the child that this is a safe space for them to explore their emotions & behavior without fear of rejection/abandonment.
Ans: The goal here is to provide a holding space for the caregivers as they navigate the process of parenting adolescents. Here, we will be discussing your thoughts & concerns, your expectations from therapy & how the child is doing at this moment given the context they are placed in. We will also be discussing the case formulation of the adolescent, the family dynamics & other external factors that may be influencing the presentation of symptoms and protective agents that can help the child during this process.
